The F.I.R.S.T. (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego League is a program for middle school students to ignite enthusiasm for discovery, science and technology. This program is an after-school activity held three days per week from September to early December. Each year in September, the students are presented with a challenge that requires them to research and solve a real world problem, present their findings and solutions, and build an autonomous robot using engineering concepts.
The F.I.R.S.T. Lego League serves as an introductory platform that allows students to explore their creativity and develop a sense for their interests in the areas of science, technology, and engineering, acting as a crucial feeder program to the Robotics Team as students matriculate to high school.
