The science and math coordinator of the school district created a Science Curriculum and Instruction Institute as an innovative professional development program. This institute brought middle school and high school teachers together to collaborate on synthesizing 21st century curricula to completely revise the science curriculum at Abington Heights High School. The new curriculum is not dependent on a single textbook, but involves multiple resources and engages the students in scientific phenomena, thereby getting students excited about science.
